The north shore of Kauai is blessed with a year around growing season. Our location on the north east
corner of the island has moderate rainfall (40-60 inches per year) with an abundance of cooling trade
winds and ample sunshine.
Being at the northern edge of the tropics, there is a fair amount of seasonality to the fruits and
vegetables that we grow; many are limited to specific times of the year, while others grow in all seasons.
Here is a sampling of items we grow and the season you are most likely to find them:
Year-round: papaya, banana, avocado, kale (curly, red, dinosaur), green beans, beets, eggs, basil
(sweet, Thai and lemon), parsley, kaffir lime leaf, green onion, thyme, oregano, rosemary, marjoram,
chives, cut flowers, cherry tomato, Swiss chard
Fall / Winter: carrots, spinach, leafy greens, lettuce, fennel, cabbage, cilantro, mint, lemons, limes,
tangerines, oranges, pak choi, bok choy, arugula, mustard greens, ginger, turmeric (“olena”), turnips
(white and red) breadfruit (“ulu”), longan, yacon, miracle berry
Spring: carrots, lychee, sweet onions, lettuce, celery, cilantro, mint, lemons, limes, tangerines, oranges, pak choi, bok choy, arugula, mustard greens , ginger, turmeric, turnips (white and red), jackfruit, passion fruit (“lilikoi”), cashew fruit
Summer: pineapple (white, “sugarloaf”) mango, jackfruit, passion fruit (“lilikoi”)
